What is the CSForNY State Summit?

The CSForNY State Summit is an opportunity to build and amplify momentum to reach more New York students with quality, equitable, and sustainable K-16 computer science education programs. The CSForNY State Summit will convene K-12 computer science education stakeholders, including state-level decision makers, business & industry, K-12, local CS education leaders, nonprofit and community based organizations, and funders. This group will engage in learning sessions and discussions around current CS initiatives and future needs for the K-16 youth pathways. Visit www.csforny.org to learn more.

When is the summit?

The free, virtual 2022 CSForNY State Summit will be held on Friday September 30th and Saturday October 1st from 9:00am – 1:00pm each day. Note: Please register for both days to attend the full conference.

Who Should Attend?

The entire K-16 New York CS education community, including teachers, counselors and registrars, school and district administrators, CTE directors, nonprofits & OST providers, teacher preparation programs, post-secondary programs, policymakers, and the tech industry.

Where is the summit?

It’s virtual! We’ll be using a platform called Hopin to facilitate breakout rooms and keep participants engaged.

How much does it cost?

It’s free and open to everyone! Donations are appreciated and interested sponsors should contact CSForNY on their website. CSTA NYC is the fiscal sponsor for the CSForNY State Summit.

How do I invite my school district?

CSForNY is asking school districts to gather groups of teachers, counselors and registrars, administrators, STEM and CTE directors, and external partners to attend the summit to help build or expand their CS education initiatives. District leaders will be able to request a breakout session to discuss takeaways and next steps or present updates to attendees. See the CSForNY State Summit website for a district outreach template to help spread the word.

How can I learn more about computer science education in New York State?

Visit www.csforny.org to learn more about the new NYS Computer Science and Digital Fluency Learning Standards, CS certification, professional development, joining your regional CSTA Chapter, and more!
